INSTALLATION REPORT:

Blast Furnace Injection at ArcelorMittal

Granular Coal Injection Preparation System Two (2) Williams DF-90 Roller Mill Systems with patented inert gas drying reduce 2" x 0 high volatile bituminous coal with 10.5% moisture, to minus 4 mesh at 60 TPH or 70% minus 200 mesh while simultaneously drying the coal to less than .5% moisture in a safe, inert atmosphere. The system also has an infinite turndown capability to follow process demand.

A. Roller Mill RMI-90 and Dynamic Separator Williams DF-90 Roller Mill with 500 HP variable frequency AC drive, external right angle reducer, and dynamic separator.

B. Cyclone Separator 20' - 0" heavy duty cyclone collectors with ceramic liners, explosion vents, and 30" x 30" rotary valves, separate conveying/drying gases from product coal.

C. Scalping Screen Scalping screen insures a product size of 99% minus 4 mesh, while rejecting trash off of the top deck and returning oversize coal to the mill from the intermediate deck.

D. Distribution Bin The product distribution bin regulates coal flow to blast furnace tuyeres.

E. Primary Fan 700 HP primary fan rated at 75,000 CFM at 32" static pressure, fluidizes coal in the Roller Mill and transports product to cyclone collector.

Exhaust Fan A 250 HP exhaust fan rated at 38,000 CFM at 20" static pressure, removes moisture laden gas from the system, while drawing gasses through the bag house.

F. Air Heater 30 million BTU per hour, gas fired heater is the source for drying and inerting gas.

G. Baghouse The baghouse filters 38,000 CFM of moisture laded gas prior to venting to atmosphere. Unit includes explosion vents, deluge system, screw conveyor, and rotary airlock.
